Water recovery

Ammonia has a strong capacity to absorb moisture. The presence of water in NH3 makes it necessary to lower the evaporating pressure in the equipment to achieve the same evaporating temperature and the same heat exchange, which leads to a reduction in system performance. The loss of cooling capacity is estimated at 1% for every 1% of water contained in the ammonia. Additionally, the presence of water in NH3 degrades the oil prematurely, decomposing it and increasing corrosion in the circuit.
